Pharmacy robbed for fourth time.
Man gets away with brand-name OxyContin pills.
The robber walked into Hunnington,Alabama Pharmacy on South Memorial Parkway just after it opened, but waited until the one customer ahead of him left.
He passed a note saying he had a gun, but never showed it.
He led two female employees into the back office, but didn't hurt or tie them up.
He wanted drugs, but only the "good" stuff: The brand-name OxyContin pills.
"Worth more on the street," the pharmacist said afterward.
OxyContin is an opiate prescribed to people with serious, chronic pain. Legitimate users include recovering car-crash victims and cancer patients.
On the street, it is called OC, Oxycotton and Oxy, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. It is taken in pill form or ground up and inhaled like cocaine.
Illegal possession of OxyContin is a felony, but it is widely abused. In some rehab centers, treatment populations are split almost evenly between alcohol and opiate abusers.
The two Hunnington,Alabama employees, who did not want to be named, described their Tuesday morning robber as a young man, late teens or early 20s, in a baseball cap and, probably, a wig.
